Once the actual business conditions became clearer to the management and a better understanding of the requirements and challenges was formed, it was time for a restructuring phase. With Job descriptions condensing to clear tasks and responsibilities and expanding team further to drive the technical innovation from within the office. ArabEasy team became over 20 people strong, all of whom played a part as an integral cog in the clockwork.
Sales engine was set up in house to support the increasing demand for the EZ level of service quality. With the sales engine in place, an overwhelming amount of work began pouring in while the Delivery and Quality team holding together and pulling forward.
Once a decent capacity was set up, a growth spurt became more and more apparent when even with increased capacity work tended to bring the capacity to its knees with people working harder than ever to maintain the 99% positive feedback streak. Firstly, a lot of the menial tasks which were repetitive and time consuming were digitized and automated so that minimal effort would go in those tasks and efficiency for other tasks increased.
Once the delivery team was set up, the inflow of assignments increased and more people were required in the quality team who could manage the capacity of translation and quality assurance that the company would be able to handle. Examining translators since it’s inception, the cream of the crop was selected to form the internal QA team who would be responsible to ensure that the quality of translation is top notch.
With a new name and multiple clients sending work , it was time that the operations of the company scale up. Expansion of the delivery team was necessary. For 24 hour coverage, a team of 6 people was set-up who would manage the operations throughout the day for the whole week.
Once the pace of business picked-up the showrunners came to think about what the business should actually be named. A bunch of ideas came up but nothing justified the essence of WiP. Then once in a conversation with a friend from the Middle East, He came across the word Arabizi which essentially means Arabic words written using English alphabet and numbers and a Play on the word was Arabeasy as it rhymed with Arabizi and the company would be making Arabic translations easy.
With months of persistence and determination, WiP finished it’s first quarter and landed it’s first big account with one of the top consulting firms.
Dedicated a whole team for translation and operations to their account. Meanwhile, WiP completed the translation of 11000 words in the first 3 months with 99% positive feedback
After a couple months of searching through candidates, Joy finally came across 2 individuals who would each take on the role of the operational and translation parts of the business. Dedicating 24 hours of their life to build a business that challenges the current ways of the translation industry the first two employees joined ArabEasy aiming to disrupt the market.
After over 6 months of market research and trends in the industry, Joy decided to resign from his job as a Marketing Consultant and dedicate himself to building a revolutionary translation service company. The focus was to check the viability of the business and focus on delivering great quality work. For this, the company was incorporated in the United Arab Emirates from where the Quality Assurance team could manage and control the translations and an Innovation Hub situated in India from where the operational tasks can be accomplished. The idea still being undeveloped completely, the company came to be known as WiP – Work in Progress.
While working in the Middle East as a Management Consultant, Joy recognized the need for a better service quality in the translation industry as it had been running with archaic procedures. The urgent need for good translations and the lack of even half decent service quality demanded a fix. Looking at the current state of the industry, Joy saw an opportunity and took a sabbatical from his current job to come up with a solution that would break the translation industry as it stands.
